3 Years

Yesterday was our 3 year wedding anniversary. The whole day was pretty relaxed overall. We had originally planned to head out to the Keg for a delicious steak and crab dinner, but instead we ended up staying in with the babe and having a yummy roast chicken.

I'm still too paranoid to try some wine with dinner, I hope to get over that soon. We watched The Bachelorette and then headed to bed early to curl up and watch Marley & Me. Great way to celebrate 3 years of marriage as new parents.

And Now Her Feet!

I found her after her nap trying to shove her little feet into that pretty mouth of hers. It was so cute, and then she gave me this huge smile like she was saying "Look how adorable I am, Mom."

She's Discovered Her Hands!

My little girl has found her hands! I love that when she learns something new, I can be here to catch it. This week it's her hands. She shoves them in her mouth, opens and closes them in front of her face, looks down at them, it just amazes me how smart she is. Earlier in the week she grabbed a toy that was in front of her during tummy time and pulled it right up to her face to stare at it. She's also trying to shove toys and whatever objects she can get her hands on into her mouth...although she misses her mouth by a mile, she still tries very hard and then gets frustrated when it doesn't make it in there. It is pretty cute!

I still haven't caught her roll over on the camcorder. Every time I whip it out she won't do it and then when I put it down, she rolls. She must know that I want to capture the moment, she already has quite the little attitude ;) Just today she was having a fit when I didn't whip my boob out quick enough, so I turned her to face me and said something along the lines of "Someone is quite the diva" and she looked at me all angry like and stomped her foot down on my leg. Should be interesting!

She Did It!!

My little princess rolled over!!! It looked so natural too. She looked over at me during tummy time and then just rolled over nice and slow. I am soooo proud of her! She now rolls tummy to back and back to tummy!!

My Baby Is 2 Months Old (A Couple Days Early)

I must say, Brianna is growing up very quickly before our eyes. I am unbelievably lucky to get to stay home with her and spend all the time I want with her, day after day. Here are her accomplishments so far.

At 2 months old you are:

  • Weighing in at 12lbs (Holy cow! 9oth percentile)
  • 23.75 inches (you are super long, like 97th percentile!)
  • Head circumference is now 15.5 inches (75th percentile)
  • Eating every 3 to 4 hours which is alot easier on me. I can now leave you with your dad so I can go out and see friends or a quick shopping trip
  • You are hating tummy time more and more. I will put you down and within a minute you get frustrated and start to yell and cry. Before we left for your trip you had rolled over on your back once and then you did it once again on our trip but haven't again since. I know you can do it, you just don't want to.
  • You smile ALL THE TIME and it makes me so so happy to see that big grin of yours. I was able to capture a couple pictures of you smiling on our trip - finally!
  • Taking the majority of your naps in your crib these days, no more napping on the couch or on my lap or in the swing. I am trying to get you to sleep in there more and more so that one day daddy and I can reclaim our bed :)
  • Started grabbing at my hair and pulling real hard. I'm not liking this one all that much.
  • You still sleep from 11ish to 3 or 4am, feed, and then sleep again until about 7am.
  • Cooing is something you do on a regular basis now, and I love it!
  • If I put a toy in your hand, you will hold it and try to get it into your mouth which by the way, is a constant drool factory these days
You had your first set of shots today and OMG I felt horrible for you. I have never heard a baby cry like that before and all I could do was cry as soon as that little needle went in. Her face went from all happy to pain. She went bright red and let out the loudest most high pitched cries. I am so glad it is over and even though I know this is good for her and will keep her healthy, I'm happy we won't need to go through that for another 2 months. I just keep looking at her short chubby legs and see those little prick marks :(

We're Back!

We got back from Ontario late Saturday night. Clint and I were both so pleased and surprised at how well behaved Brianna was for both flights and car rides. The only hiccup we had was when we were driving from the airport to Clint's parent's house (4 hour drive which took us closer to 6) and she started to scream and cry the last 20 minutes or so due to hunger. Not bad at all for her first big trip. This whole thing made me feel tons better about the flights I will be taking her on alone in August to visit my family and attend a friend's wedding.

Unfortunately, when we got there Clint's mom was in Minneapolis due an emergency with his grandfather. They had to rush him down there in an ambulance late Friday night but in the end everything turned out fine. Clint was so happy to be able to see his grandpa for what will most probably be the last time. I'm so glad he will have that, he really needed to go down there and visit and also introduce Brianna to her great-grandfather.

With Brianna being the first girl, everyone spoiled her rotten and fought over who got to hold her next. She is loved by many this little one. We got to visit with a couple of friends, see alot of family and do some shopping too. I also was able to get my hair done by my old hairdresser which was great, I love that she darkened my hair and made it so much easier to style in the AM. Overall, it was a great little vacation. Only wish it would have lasted longer.

Here are some pictures taken while down there.
